The SLSMG Soloist is one of the lightest and finished production guitars I have ever had the pleasure of using I have several of these because they are the best heavy metal shredding guitar ever made. This flat black MATTE finish is the cherry on top honestly... This particular guitar does not have any of the flat black finish rubbed off which is rare on this finish usually after years of use the flat matte black become shiny from the Palm rubbing on it thousands of times.. this one has not seen much use in that regards, the fretboard and the body are completely unworn.. there is a small chip in the front of it however, it is so small it can easily be covered with paint however I did not want to alter it from its original condition.. in my opinion I think it gives the guitar character and makes it look a little more metal but that's a subjective opinion LOL The ding isn't really visible unless the light hits it just right, but like I said honestly it doesn't really impact the way the guitar looks it's just that amazing of a piece I uploaded photos of what it looks like side by side with an average guitar and you can see how super thin it is do not be fooled by other Jackson soloist models with Floyd Rose hardware the whammy bar component makes that model a bit thicker and heavier..
