The Sailors' Magazine was a magazine published by the American Seamen's Friend Society in the 19th and 20th centuries. The full title varied somewhat over the years. The Sailors' Magazine began in 1828 as The Sailor's Magazine, and Naval Journal. It was renamed The Sailor's Magazine in 1837, The Sailors' Magazine and Seamen's Friend in 1864, The Sailors' Magazine in 1913, and The Sailors' Magazine and Seamen's Friend in 1914. No issue or contribution copyright renewals were found for this serial. It ran until 1933. The magazine has many interesting articles in it. Just a couple of articles in the magazine are Sandwich Islands, Provisions of the Acts of the South Carolina Legislature, to prevent the harboring of deserted seamen, Poetry, New York Humane and Criminal Institutions, and much more!!! Magazine has an illustrated cover. It contains pages numbered 97 to 128, as some articles would continue over time. Pages remain in good condition and are completely legible. Previous owner name written on top of title page. Magazine shows a bit of age and remains in good condition! This magazine is over 170 years old!! Would make a superb addition to a collection.
