Description: Condition:I acquired two of these a couple years back and sold one. This is the last one I have and I NEVER see these offeredfor sale. It has a bit of edge and corner wear, otherwise, it retains all its original color and gloss and has exceptionaleye appeal. There are no ink marks on this example. This blotter is an advertisement for a photography studio inChicago called Kaufmann & Fabry. The card is important to collectors as it features a composite team photograph ofthe 1929 Chicago Cubs, who lost in the World Series in 5 games to the Philadelphia Athletics. Other:Ink blotters were generally rectangular cards that were popular in the days of fountain pens. They would usually bekept on desks and were used to allow people to wipe off excess ink. To properly absorb the ink, blotters aregenerally a little thicker and have a different texture than traditional cards. While not standard trading cards, blotters with sports figures are extremely collectible. Because they were used toabsorb extra ink, you will often find them with ink spots all over them. Ones that have not been covered in inkdemand a premium. Blotters were generally an advertisement for a specific product, service, or organization. Along with a picture of asports figure or team, they usually sought to promote some type of product or business. Combined Shipping: I will happily combine shipping if you purchase multiple items.
