A 30-ton tunneling machine is under construction at the Milwaukee- Boiler Manufacturing Co. plant on the South Side. The machine, which is 20 feet, 10 inches high, will be used in expanding the subway system in the Washington, D.C., area. The machine has been under construction at the factory since October and is expected to be shipped in about six weeks, according to President Richard W. Stevens, pictured in the center of the group of three men at the bottom left. Project engineers Cliff J. Sanders (left) and Robert W.
