Description: Late 19th century small gilt metal expanding purse, probably originally a chatelaine accessory. The cap is a slightly orange, almost coppery golden brass tone with an engraved pattern (it matches the bullet-form thimble case listed separately) while the mesh is a darker, more muted gold-tone. The mesh purse is about 4″ high and the neck expands to open quite wide. The cap closes securely. Very good condition overall with expected signs of use. The purse cap has wear to the finish on top with one tiny ring pulled loose from the mesh body and one ring replaced with a ring of dark grey metal. No hallmarks found. Just one of a number of needlework items that we have listed right now. I'm always happy to combine items into a single shipment whenever possible, just ask for an invoice before paying.
