Description: 2023 SARRACENIA SEEDS: FLAVA ORNATA X (FLAVA X ALATA) [CARNIVOROUS PLANT SEED] Code: 64: 23FH13 This listing includes: One pack of approximately 30 Sarracenia seeds from the following cross: Mother (pod) plant: S. flava var. ornata Father (pollen) plant: S. (flava x alata) For this cross, the mother plant is my largest and most vigorous ornata, which grows to 26in in height easily. It has a great, elegant shape and thin veins all over. I pollinated this plant with pollen from a very colorful hybrid, flava x alata. It has some awesome contrast between the tube/hood VS the lip VS the inner mouth. It’s a very colorful plant showing all warm colors: orange, yellow, and red. The offspring are sure to be colorful and with some strong contrasting colors. Expect them to be flava dominant, but due to the alata in the mix, some will retain the red throat and underhood color as well as some possible fall pitcher production. 1st picture shows the two parent plants. 2nd picture shows the mother (pod) parent. 3rd picture shows the father (pollen) parent. 4th picture shows an example of the seeds you will get (not the quantity). 5th picture shows an example of how I bag my Sarracenia flowers in the spring. This cross was made in the Spring of 2023 and the seeds were harvested in Fall of 2023. The cross was done carefully by hand. All manual crosses had bagged flowers to avoid any unwanted pollen contamination by nature. After harvest and drying in the Fall, the seeds have been stored dry in the fridge to maximize longevity and viability. I have been growing Sarracenia for 15 years and my goal is to make quality seeds and plants affordable to anyone that is interested in growing these amazing plants.
