Description: Quality 6" flat mill hand file in a smooth cut coarseness. Pattern files come in 3 grades of coarseness. They are from most coarse to least, Bastard, 2nd Cut, and Smooth. While the coarseness of a file is determined by the size of the teeth, the actual size of the teeth vary with the length of the file. In other words, a 4" Bastard and a 14" Bastard are the coarsest version, however the teeth on the 4" file are much smaller than the teeth on the 14" file. Nicholson USA made flat file.
