Description: Antique 16 patch hand sewn, hand quilted quilt. Each block measures 1 1/4 inch square. That is about 1/3 bigger than a postage stamp, but very small. Cotton batting and unbleached cotton muslin backing were used. This is a quilt that is from the 1800s, that is unused. Acquired just as it came out of the frame, with the extra fabric and pins still attached. A hand sewn unbleached cotton binding has been carefully added. There are three blocks that have loose seams. (all same type of fabric) I believe they are right at the border edge. I have tried to take photos of all of them, as well as any and all soiling. There is some foxing (normal for anything of this age) and a soiled storage fold line on the backing side. It is a great piece of textile history, that would look equally as great displayed in your log home, or in a museum. Quilt will be sent insured and must be signed for upon delivery. More photos are available upon request.
