Description: Measures approximately 48" long x 17" wide This is an exceptional antique Chinese silk embroidery show casing many different avian animals. There are 2 blue and white birds seated atop the highest branch. Below that are a group of what might be magpies or swallows both in the air and perched. Towards the middle there is an excellent scene of birds and flowers. Below that is a large male and female peacock with outstretched feathers. At the common there is a male and female chicken. The piece is old and there are patterns of what looks like foxing. I don't know if this was intentional to give it design between the stitching, or if it is wear from age. There is also a water spot at the bottom. If I was to ship this framed it would probably cost around $80. If the buyer chooses I can remove from the frame and ship it folded in a box for a lot cheaper. Please examine photos very well to determine condition.
