Description: Antique Chinese Porcelain Ginger Jar Qing Dynasty Tongzhi. This piece has multicolored famille rose glazes, and may be considered to have the Straits (Nonya / Nyonya) porcelain color palette. The exterior has floral decoration, with four round medallions that have double happiness symbols. This motif is repeated on the lid. The interior is glazed white. The maximum diameter is approximately 8”, and the height is about 8 5/8 inches. Unpacked, it weighs 4lbs, 8.4 ounces. This is a gorgeous piece with very little signs of age, it has been treasured and taken care of by a prominent collector in Ohio. Please see photos and you will see the exceptional condition of this piece. They may be parts where the paint is not perfect, but it was hand painted. It has no cracks or chips. There is some glare in the photos, it was difficult to get the glare out. Identification This Chinese jar is believed to be antique, of the Qing Dynasty. It has a red, six character Tongzhi Nian Zhi mark beneath. The exact age is not known, but it is circa late 19th century to early 20th century, either Tongzhi or possibly Guangxu period.
