Description: Vintage / Antique blue molded glass beads made in Bohemia better known as the Czech Republic specifically for being traded into Africa in the 1920s-1950's. Among the Fulani women of Mali these trade beads were used during weddings being presented to the bride, hence the name evolved wedding beads. Largest bead measures 33.03mm long by 20mm wide and is 5.56mm thick. These beads are worn everyday by some African women and traditionally on their wedding day. This bead set is in great overall condition with some surface wear and patina. Perfect for jewelry making or adding to your bead collection.
