Description: Vintage / Antique molded glass bead made in Bohemia better known as the Czech Republic specifically for being traded into Africa in the 1920s-1950's. Among the Fulani women of Mali these trade beads were used during weddings being presented to the bride, hence the name evolved wedding beads. This Lion Claw bead measures 33.44mm long by 20.47mm wide and 4.91mm thick. These beads are worn everyday by some African women and traditionally on their wedding day. This bead is in good overall condition with some wear. Perfect for jewelry making or adding to your African trade bead collection.
