We do not recommend using a strong thread sealant with this hardware. This KIT was designed to specifically address the issue of unnecessary unsprung mass within the factory braking system. It helps to eliminate a considerable amount of weight relative to the factory steel parts they're replacing. Also, it allows base W211 and W219 AMG owners to UPGRADE from 360mm (14") front rotors to 390mm (15") front rotors. This KIT provides fantastic fit, finish, functionality, and reliability!! Extensive street testing on our own daily-driven E63-AMG proved that these parts work flawlessly under any condition without any sacrifice. Our testing has shown that the actual weight of our 390mm brackets & bolts compared to the weight of the factory steel 360mm brackets & bolts is LESS THAN HALF the weight! It's undeniable - the numbers don't lie, and we STRONGLY believe that you can't be serious about performance and / or efficiency if you don't recognize that weight (reduction) plays a major factor in both. It does make a difference. Increased rotor diameter and a larger wheel combination?....there's literally no downside.
