This combination proportioning valve is for Disc/Drum applications. This valve performs all the necessary functions when using disc brakes in the front and drum brakes in the rear. These functions include the following: Proportioning: As more force is applied to the brakes and the car begins to lean forward, less braking force is needed in the rear. This valve decreases the pressure to the rear, preventing lock up. Metering: Metering is used in the front disk brake portion in the disc/drum system to delay application of the front discs allowing the slower reacting drum brakes to catch up. This provides rear stability on wet surfaces and helps prevent front pad wear. There is no metering function with the disc/disc setup. System Failure Switch: This valve has a system failure switch that will alert you when half of your braking system is not working properly. This valve is a great upgrade over the original and is a must when upgrading from drum to disc brakes. This is a GM style valve, but will work on almost any Ford, Mopar, Chevy, or whatever, as long as you have the right fittings. This valve is solid brass, making it long lasting and heavy duty. The included Valve Bleed Tool is designed to replace the warning light switch (white plug) on the proportioning valve during the brake bleeding process. After the bleeding process is finished, simply remove this PvBT Tool and reinstall the warning light switch. This item makes bleeding your brake system much easier. This tool is designed to lock the low pressure shut valve to allow fast and easy brake system bleeding.
