Description: This is Fascicule 5 of the J. Paul Getty Museum contribution to the "Corpus Vasorum Antiquorum" series (U.S.A. Fascicule 29), published in 1994 in association with Union Academique Internationale. It consists of a 9.25"x13" hardcover folder containing a 66 page softcover book written by Marit R. Jentoft-Nilsen in association with A. D. Trendall, and 45 plates each typically featuring multiple black-and-white photos of ancient Greek vases in the Molly and Walter Bareiss collection. Each vase is described in detail in the book. They consist of the following types: Mycenaean, Faience, East Greek, Proto-Corinthian, Corinthian, Laconian, Euboean, Chalcidian, Attic geometric, Attic black-figure, Attic network, Attic black body, Attic black glaze, Apulian, Gnathia, Daunian, Lucanian, Campanian, Sicilian, Lead glaze, and Arretine. The set is in very good condition. The folder has a small indentation along the front bottom edge, the book and plates show minimal wear and are unmarked. According to its website, "the Corpus Vasorum Antiquorum ('Corpus of Ancient Vases') is the oldest research project of the Union Académique Internationale. It consists of a series of high-quality catalogues of mostly ancient Greek painted pottery in collections around the world.
