Sellards PhD (1875-1961) accepted the Chair of Professor of Geology and Zoology at the University of Florida, at Gainesville, in 1904 and continued in this position until 1907, when he became State Geologist of Florida and moved to Tallahassee. While he was Florida State Geologist, he published 12 annual reports, two bulletins, and numerous articles of enduring prominence. Condition: Hardcover, Florida Geological Survey, Tallahassee, FL 1910. 397 pp., maroon cloth with gold imprint on cover and faded spine. Minor shelf wear to board edges with scuffs and minor spotting on cover. Illustrated with a folding Florida map, 45 B&W plates and 30 text figures. Internally clean and solid with mild foxing affecting both front and rear flyleaves and title page, plates are clear and bright being printed on semigloss stock. No other tears, stray marks, or dog-eared pages. Three short lines of text on pp.124-25 blacked out with marker pen. Text block, signatures and spine are solid. Covers are square with lightly bumped corners; A copy in Good condition for its 114-year age.
