Description: This India ALWAR State stamp is a rare find for collectors. With a year of issue of 1877, this ungraded stamp is a piece of history from British Colonies & Territories. The stamp was manufactured in India and is uncertified, adding to its unique character. A must-have for any stamp collector, this piece is sure to be a valuable addition to any collection. These are from my step-grandfather's collection. He was an avid worldwide stamp collector before his death in the late 1960s. A majority of his collection was destroyed by flood waters during Hurricane Camille in 1972 on the gulf coast. My parents rescued whatever they could when my grandma moved to Maryland after that. These are mounted on pages hand created by him with details typed on the page. All the stamps are housed in crystal cellophane sleeves and I believe are mint, never hinged, but I have not removed them from the sleeves to confirm that. I will try to note any obvious damage and take detailed photos of that if warranted. Photos are of the actual item(s) you will receive. They have remained in storage for a generation and since I don't collect stamps myself anymore, it's time to get rid of them.
