APPLICATION RATE: Place this barley straw in shallow water, in a sunny location, and near moving water such as a stream, or waterfall. For best results, split the barley straw bale into smaller, 4 to 8 ounce clumps and space them along the pond's perimeter. The recommended application is approximately 4 oz per 1,000 gallons of water. You may reapply barley straw every 4 to 6 months. A mesh bag (or similar) is suggested be used to place straw into when it is positioned around the pond. Two bales treat up to 3,000 gallons of water for 10 to 12 months.
