Description: Maxfield Parrish’s “Sing A Song Of Sixpence” - Matted, Period Framed ‘Reproduction’ of the Illustration appearing in the February, 1911 issue of ‘Century Magazine’. The actual’ image measures 8 1/4”x 3 1/2”, outermost frame dimensions are 11 1/4”x 8 1/4”. Bevel matted in textured ecru, the frame is a refurbished period print frame from the 1930’s/40’s. The color and detail are amazing for its size. Parrish signature (not discernible) in upper left corner (photo #6). It is backed with acid-free cotton rag board, new hardware, dustcover and bump-ons October, 2024 and ready to hang. It was originally painted in 1910-1911 as a wall decoration for ‘The Hotel Sherman’, Chicago. A nice cost/size alternative to the print (Ref. Flacks 4th Ed. Page 55, last 2 photos, 17 & 18), unless you’re ‘lucky enough’ to have one. Note: The first 11 photos are taken without glass to avoid reflection/glare issues, photos 13 thru 16 after completion of project. Again, this is a Reproduction of the original illustration.
