Description: Zwan Impex manufactured Peritoneal Abdominal trocar is comprised of a stainless steel inner obturator & exterior introducer. The Split Trocar is designed to be used for placement of a hydrocephalic catheter with an outer diameter of up to approximately 3.0 mm in both the ventricular and peritoneal cavities when hydrocephalic shunting is indicated. After the surgeon has penetrated the ventricle and before placement of the catheter, the Trocar can be used to obtain cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) for analysis. Available separately are a cranial anchoring clip and a right angle anchoring clip for securing the distal and proximal ends of the catheter after placement.
