Additionally the HMV2E design focus was articulation and when it is inserted LATER in the stages of the amp, the result is more articulation with sustain, so your signal can still clean up well by rolling back your guitar’s volume control. This is why it’s become popular with even higher-gain amps like many Friedman models, Mesa Rectifier (2 channel), Soldano SLO, or the Marshall JCM 2000 DSL/TSL 50/100 watt amps.
