Description: Yellow Hinkelhatz Hot Pepper The Hinkelhatz has been grown and used for over 150 years among the Pennsylvania Dutch. The name gives the best clue. “hinkel hatz” is Pennsylvania Dutch for “chicken heart”and it describes the pepper well. The 2 to 2 ½ feet tall bushes produce a super-abundance of 1 ¼ inch pods. There’s a surprising heat here for the diminutive size of this chili. At minimum they match the medium heat of jalapeo pepper. But Hinkelhatz peppers can range up to a lot more. At their top they can be a similar heat to a cayenne. An ideal pepper for pickling or as an addition to hot sauces. 90 days. THANKS FOR VISITING!
