This glove is for the RIGHT handed thrower as the glove fits on the LEFT hand ! Trust me on this one ! This is the nicest boys catchers mitt that I own ! This mitt is small and it is perfectly broken in and it is totally game ready ! The mitt is also very well padded and it is flexible and it opens and closes with ease ! So it is user friendly ! The glove also has an incredible pocket as you can clearly see in the photos ! So once the ball enters this pocket it will not pop out ! I believe the mitt would for baseball only as the pocket of this glove is not large enough to be used for softball ! Checkout the 4th and the 5th photos how the glove just wraps itself around the baseball and the 6th photo how the glove looks in the closed position without a baseball in the pocket ! The 7th photo also shows how the glove holds a full size 12” round softball ! As far as fitting goes, this glove fits my adult size hand tightly and with no room left over ! So In my opinion this mitt will be a perfect mitt for an ADVANCED youth or for a youth just starting out ! The inner lining is in excellent condition as the glove is extremely comfortable to the hand and the fingers all the way up through the finger stalls !
