Description: This gorgeous Delft vase with the famous Pijnacker style bears the original sticker from which it was purchased on the bottom of the vase. The gold sticker shows the company Focke & Meltzerwho was the shop specializing in glassware and tableware. Its headquarters were located in Amsterdam. The company was founded in 1823 by Sebastiaan Meltzer, Frans Focke, and Anton Eberhart, all originally from Bohemia. The business remained in the family, and since 1886 it held the title of Hofleverancier (Purveyor to the Royal Household). Pijnacker pattern is named after the town located near Delft. The painted stamp on the bottom of the vase, gives us the year it was made in 1959. Unfortunately, we were unable to determine who the artist is painted on the base of the vase other than his/her initials "BTE", but the lid shows the initials "AVO" who is A.F.S. Voss. Voss worked for the company from 1955 to 1969. Each vase was hand-painted so no two are exactly alike.
