Breakthrough Color Temperature Simply stated, IBEXs LED driven 4300K color temperature breaks the barriers of conventional slit lamp observation. The homogenous radiant white light delivers a host of observation gains including enhanced tissue fluorescence, better tissue differentiation, increased depth of field and shadow reduction the latter is especially useful during increasingly popular indirect illumination. Not familiar with color temperature? Color temperature is a characteristic of visible light, usually warm (yellowish), daylight (white) or cool (bluish). Its measured in degrees of Kelvin (K). During the past ten years the 4000K-4500K range has evolved as the color temperature of choice in todays high-end operating microscopes and modern surgical suites for good reason: It creates superb contrast and enables surgeons to better differentiate tissue. Helicoid Eyepieces & Telescoping Eye Cups The helicoid style eyepieces twist up and down for diopter adjustment and operate independent of the eyecups. This allows them to be left at proper position for your vision. Additionally, telescoping eye cups at the front of the oculars provide 18mm of eye relief, enabling users with or without eye glasses to experience the maximum field of view. How it works: Users wearing eye glasses push the cups in while users without eye glasses extend the cups outward. Both maximize the optical system to view the full image. Safety First The Elimination of UV, IR, and Blue Light components While the human eye is specifically designed to sense a small portion of the electromagnetic (EM) spectrum (i.e. visible light), it is also susceptible to damage when exposed to high energy levels across the EM spectrum. IBEX LED Slit Lamps utilize a combination of proprietary technologies and electronics to block 100% of the infrared (IR), ultraviolet (UV), and the Blue Light Effect or Blue Light Hazard Range. Elimination of the UV, IR, and blue light components substantially reduce retinal irradiation during retinal visualization.
