Description: For auction is a vintage VAUGHAN steel one piece shaft hatchet hammer. Various measurements and weight are pictured. It weighs 1 pound and 13.9 ounces. The entire piece shows minor signs of use and moderate signs of age including very light sporadic surface rust and rubber grip fractures from age. Despite the small rubber deteriorating spots it’s still tight and firm. The sheath snap works good. It fits the head fine. It does however have a couple of issues. The rear leather rivets holding it together has come loose and will need reattached, 4 total. The sheath leather has hardened some but is definitely salvageable and worth the effort. With the leather reattached and a good leather treatment conditioning it’ll be ready for used. The hatchet metal is very nice and well made. Overall very good vintage piece!
