Worst case rip off the black top, and just cap the fiber connectors. - This unit will do many things. But we mainly used it for testing any clients that possibly had bad fiber. Source to meter, with a patch cable. Zero out the meter. Take meter to other far end. Take reading and check what the loss is. Really simple. Our clients mostly had/have MM OM1 and OM3 fiber.
