Description: Completed needlepoint brick cover with pansies and other flowers. The background isn't white -- it's more of a beige(?). This piece has been removed from a brick and shows some minimal wear. Along one long side flap there are a few missing or abraded stitches along the seam line where the brick cover joined the bottom felt (third and fourth photos). Along a small side flap there is an approx 1" cut at the seam line (fifth photo), which is something that can be carefully fixed when it's later attached to a new brick. About brick covers: I am listing a bunch from my collection, mostly duplicates. The worked design area of a brick cover is always around 9 to 9.5 inches by 13 to 14 inches. Background canvas size varies. Some people decide to make a pillow or framed piece so they work it in a full rectangle, but the design will show the original intent was a brick cover - five panels, with a main motif in the center and the satellite panel images often upside-down or sideways. For a preworked pattern, these were sold with the design area completed, and the background color and personalization to be worked by the buyer. Pieces are finished by covering a brick with padding, stitching the seams between the four sides of the brick cover, and adding a velvet or flannel (etc) bottom. Will ship folded.
