CORDIAL For the cordial collector we offer a beautiful hand-made glass cordial. This piece of elegant glass stemware was hand-made by the Morgantown Glass Company, formerly of Morgantown, West Virginia. The stem and the foot are made in clear colored glass and the bowl is done in a beautiful ruby red colored glass that Morgantown Glass called “Spanish Red.” This piece has been part of my personal collection since the year 1983. The piece in my photos is the actual piece you will receive. This is a high quality piece of hand-made glass with a blown bowl, a pressed stem, and a cast foot, which were then attached together while hot. Please be sure to read the “AGE AND CONDITION” and “APPROXIMATE SIZE” paragraphs below. An identical cordial is pictured on page 141 of the book Stemware Identification: Featuring Cordials with Values 1920s – 1960s by Gene Florence. I do my best to describe all items as accurately as possible and to the best of my ability. Some of my photos may be somewhat lighter or darker than actual to better show detail or color. It is in excellent mint original condition. Please look closely at the photos as they are an important part of my description of this item. There are no flea bites, chips, scratches, repairs, cracks or any other visible signs of damage or wear. For the sake of 100% accuracy, I will mention three small “blisters or bubbles” in the glass on the red blown bowl and there is also one of these in the foot; these are all very minor factory blemishes or flaws and are no form of damage, just the way it came from the factory – see the close-up photo of the larger one of these on the bowl. Please keep in mind these photos may be blown up at least 8-10 times normal, so anything you see will look 8-10 times larger in the photos than it really is. Please note: if you see a dark spot in the photos, it is from my camera and is not a mark on the piece. It will be either just to the right of center towards the bottom or slightly above center on the right side of the photo. Approximate Dimensions The bowl is about 1.75” (4.4 cm) in diameter at the top rim and the cordial stands about 4.75” (12.1 cm) tall. Approximate Weight About 1.75 ounces (52 grams).
