Eichler in Dux, Bohemia in 1860. By the turn of the century, the firm specialized in porcelain statuary and bustsof art Nouveau-style maidens, large porelain figures and ornate vases with three dimentional figures climbing on the sides. This extraordinary elephant was made with the very high quality standards employed by Royal Dux. The colors and the sharp mold lines of the figurine portray an elephant in realistic fashion as he trumpets. The elephant is about 5 and 1/2 inches tall and nearly 8 inches long. The Royal Dux mark dates the elephant from 1918 until 1993....not much of a range...but our guess is that he is more modern because of his excellent condition. The factory mark is on the bottom.
