Description: Description This handsome cotton 1870's/1880's birds in the air quilt is hand pieced and hand quilted, with a cinnamon pink background and indigo blue border. It measures 64" X 72" and is in very good condition, with age staining in places (most visible on the back) and the beginnings of binding wear in places. The quilting is superb, with close straight line and diamond designs quilted throughout at an even 8-9 stitches to the inch. The back is white, the hand stitched binding is a black and white print, and the batting is thin. This DENSE HAND QUILTING and EYE CATCHING DESIGN make this 19th century beauty stand out!
