Wonderful Antique Curved Back Side Chair - BEAUTIFUL CARVED SPLAT

Description: You are bidding on this nice Antique Solid Wood Curved Back Side Chair, with Carved Splat. It is in good condition, with some light surface scratches on it from use over many years, but no deep gouges or breaks. The seat was once hole to hole hand woven caning, but is now completely gone, and will need to be re-woven or replaced with a traditional cushion seat. I am unsure of the exact age of the chair. It probably dates to the early 20th Century, although it could possibly be a little older. I think that it is made of walnut, but again, I am not completely certain. It has a wonderful carved detail on the center splat, and turned straight legs. It is 35" tall at the back, 18.75" wide across the seat, 17.5" deep, and the seat rests at 18.5" high. This is a very nice antique side chair, and would be a nice refinishing project. It would come out absolutely beautiful.
